The Rackpower 100 is a premium grade power distribution unit for musicians and audio professionals. In addition to exceptional quality, the RP100 features several valuable features:
Power Meter - The two function meter reports in easy to read LED numerals the status of your power supply and consumption. Toggle between volts and amps with a convenient push button on the front of the chassis. Voltage is measured to the nearest 0.10 VAC. Amperage is measured to the nearest 0.10 amperes in a range from 0.20A to 25.0A.
USB Ports - One USB port is provided on the front and one on the back of the chassis. These five volt DC connections are usable for utility lighting or powering accessories. Connect an inexpensive, flexible USB light fixture for lighting in the front or back of the rack. Both USB ports can also be used to charge accessories including an iPhone or iPad.
AC Power Receptacles - One AC outlet is located on the front. Nine are on the back. The rear outlets are rotated to accommodate wall warts and include extra generous spacing between four of them. Model RP 100-20A includes a single NEMA 5-20R, rated for a twenty amp load.
Power Input - RP 100-15A features a seven foot, fourteen gauge power cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug. Because of the higher twenty amp rating, the RP 100-20A has a seven foot, twelve gauge power cord with a NEMA 5-20P plug which requires a twenty amp, 5-20R, receptacle for connection to utility power.
Replaceable Surge Protection - Surge protection is provided with a triple arrangement of fast response, metal oxide varistors between line and neutral. An indicator LED on the front panel shows the protection is in place and functioning. Should that LED go out, the LED package can be replaced easily at a nominal cost.
Tour Class Chassis - This professional grade, ten inch deep enclosure is formed from a single piece of cold rolled steel. Reinforced mounting brackets and a flush mount top complete a package that's been used to rack mount other products weighing over 200 pounds. The extra chassis depth allows easy access to the rear receptacles while mounted in a rack.
Two Amperage Options - For the fifteen amp model specify RP 100-15A. For the twenty amp model specify RP 100-20A.

Combination On/Off Switch and Circuit Breaker – The rocker switch located on the right side of the chassis is a dual function component. It is normally used to manually turn the RACKPOWER on and off. In the event of a prolonged current load in excess of fifteen amps (twenty amps on the 20A models) the circuit breaker will trip to shut off power. (See the Troubleshooting section of this manual.) .
AC Power Meter - The dual function, digital meter uses red LEDs to report power line voltage and the current load being drawn from the RACKPOWER. A push button to the left of the meter toggles the meter display between voltage and amperage. Voltage metering is displayed to the nearest one tenth volt. Amperage is displayed to the nearest one tenth amp through a range from 0.4 amps to 25.0 amps. The display will flash as a warning when voltage is greater than 139 VAC or amperage is greater than 13.9A (18.9A for the 20A model) are reached.
USB Power Port - The USB connector on the front of the chassis provides 5 volts of DC current for use powering a plug-in LED light or for charging an electronic device such as an MP3 player or cell phone. This port is specially designed to charge iPhones and most other smart phone models. (A USB Port is also located on the back of the chassis.)
AC Receptacle - The AC receptacle on the left of the chassis is powered whenever the RACKPOWER is plugged into a live AC power source. It is rated at 15 amps or 20 amps and provides all the AC power protection of the RACKPOWER.
Surge Protection OK - The RACKPOWER 100 features a replaceable surge protection (RSP) module that includes three surge protection components (MOVs). The white LED on the front panel is connected to the primary MOV and is lit to indicate the surge protection components are undamaged and functioning. In the event of MOV damage due to AC power line fault or due to excessive wear over an extended period, that LED will no longer be lit, indicating surge protection may no longer be working. Note: It is possible, but unlikely, the two secondary MOVs are no longer protecting but the primary one is. In that case, the RSP surge protector is still working, but with a lower capacity to sustain power line surges. It is also possible that the primary MOV is no longer functioning, causing the protection LED to go out while the two secondary MOVs are still working. In either case, it is advisable to replace the RSP. (See the Trouble Shooting section of this manual.)
